14 སྤྱི་ཟླ་༡༢ པ། 2020

On 14 December 2020, the Dzongkhag Administration, Dagana, coinciding with an auspicious day and time, 42 civil servants were honored with the Royal Civil Service Awards at a special ceremony in the august hall of the Dzongkhag Tshogdue graced by the portrait of His Majesty and His Holiness, 70th Je Khenpo. The programme started with lighting of butter lamp and singing zhabten as a display of deep respect to His Majesty the King. The number of award recipients in each category from the Dzongkhag is as follows:

1. Bronze Medal: 25

2. Silver Medal: 11

3. Gold Medal: 3

4. Life Time Award:4

The Royal Civil Service Award was instituted and launched by the Royal Civil Service Commission following the Royal address by His Majesty the King at the 105th National Day celebration in 2012 expressing the need to institute awards for public servants. The awards comprise of four different types of medals that has the Royal seal and the carved image of His Majesty and certificates with Royal signature.

The four different categories of Medals are as follows:

1. Bronze Medals: These medals are awarded to civil servants who have served for more than 10 years.

2. Silver Medals: These medals are awarded to the civil servants who have served for more than 20 years.

3. Gold Medals: These medal are awarded to civil servants who have served for more than 30 years

4. Life time Award: These medals are awarded to civil servants who have served the country until superannuation.
